October’s been a weird and busy month. But we’re back with our latest episode! We talked about our big studio move (the main reason we haven’t done a show in a few weeks). Then, we covered my recent computer issues and explained why I’m now using an antiquated Mac Mini. I told the story of a guy who was giving a real-life Yelp review of the local Ross store. (Spoiler: It includes a lot of swearing!) We went over some listener feedback and then we finished out the show with some hilariously bad retro sex-ed advice.
We’re back with an exciting new podcast! In this episode, we talk about the high-tech headphone cable clip Jen made with a pipe cleaner. Then, Jen tells the story of how she pitched an article to popular website xoJane (which was accepted). We’ve got a shiny new Internet connection but we aren’t entirely sure just how fast it is. But the big news in this episode is we finally talk about the legal matter we’ve been mentioning for months. Yes, we’re filing for bankruptcy and we give the long and sorted history of our financial woes since moving to California. In an attempt to finish things off with some humor, we talk about how Cards Against Humanity sold actual bullshit on Black Friday.
Just in time for this week to not be over, it’s our latest podisode! We recount our (mostly uneventful) memories of the September 11th attacks, including the fact that we moved in together that week. We give our thoughts on the big Apple shindig (and its seriously buggy live stream) that went down earlier this week. (iPhone 6? Apple Watch? Meh…) Hear about our exciting adventure in troubleshooting a leaky faucet! And then… scanning and shredding 21 months worth of documents! We also went over some listener feedback and talk about how a disappointed billionaire won’t be able to carve California into six individual states. And more!
We’re back with our latest pod! It’s a rare and special show where Jen actually describes herself as “OK!” We tackle some heavy topics such as dreams and how to define “success.” Is coding/programming the only sure bet left in life in terms of paying work? Does money = love? Or is being acknowledged by strangers the only true expression of real love? Is it better to focus on short-term gains and move on? Or is it better to go for the long haul? We discussed the phenomenon of “Internet pile-ons,” specifically the Ice Bucket Challenge and the death of Robin Williams. I recount the story of a crazy guy who asked me about the Battle of Armageddon. We went over some listener feedback and more!
We’ve got an exciting episode for you! Not only are we Starbuckin’ it, but we have our first-ever guest for this iteration of our ongoing pod project. It’s Matt Sams, also known as Somnistatic. Matt has undertaken an ambitious song-a-day project for the year 2014. He’s recording a new song every day and releasing it online. As of this recording, Matt is on song number 239. He’s just about 75% of the way there and he hasn’t missed one day! During the interview, we discuss Matt’s songwriting inspiration/process. We talk about marketing and “making it” as a creative person in the Internet age. We meander thru a couple fun digressions and we play a couple of Matt’s songs.
