Talk about a lot of big news. Sorry to hear about Jen’s job loss. I’m really curious to see how the whole union angle goes. Like Shawno was alluding to, it’s not so uncommon for a principal to try to get rid of someone they don’t like for some reason, even if the teacher might have a few years of experience. When the principal does something like that though, things get ugly. Hopefully, the union can at least figure out what happened. I’ve heard of scenarios like Jen’s ending with the teacher regaining her job, but at a different school. Whatever happens though, I hope it works out for the best because what Jen is having to go through is absolute garbage.
Also sorry to hear about the arson in the vicinity of the Hyper Nonsense Studios. Sounds like you two need to move to another park. I can check to see if the park near our house has a space. Would be nice to have some more podcasters nearby.
We have some pretty clean air by the water, if that will sway you.
I’ve already checked out Jen’s new blog and I wish her good luck with it. It has a little in common with the podcast that Shawno happened to guest host for. Well, at least a little ways back. In the first 20+ shows we gave a lot of money saving tips and tricks. So, as Jen starts putting some of those up, I’d be more than happy to feature some on the podcast with Jen’s permission. These are tough times and it’s probably high time that I brought back some of the money saving tips to help people get by while times are a bit tough.
Oh and Shawno about the crayon thing, it’s just a different medium. Anyone can photoshop, but with crayon on sharpies, there is no going back. You are committed to whatever you put on that paper. So, it shows you are a true artist or in my son’s case, that there was no way I was going to try to teach him photoshop when he isn’t even 2.

Sorry to hear about Jen losing her job, that sucks big time. Its sucks even more if you don’t get a clear explanation why. I’ve been working in edumacation almost 5 years now, and I see people leave for no particular reason all the time. Edumacation is a lot like being a Freemason, there are a lot of rules that are obvious, but there are also some that no one tells you about, you gotta figure ‘em out by yourself. If you don’t, tough luck, you’re out. What It basically boils down to is “put in a lot of overtime and shut the fuck up.” My first year actually cost me more money than I made because of all the extra activities.
What inspires me the most are women. Almost everything I do or make has something to do with women. I like how they think, look, smell, and hells yeah, with the exception of my mother in law I even like how they talk.

Jen, I’m sorry about your sudden job loss. I hope the union can do something for you. That whole “specific” thing and then not giving you “specifics” is complete BS. Shawno, if you set up a subscription button on Paypal, I’d be willing to donate $5 a month for the show. I’m already doing that for several other shows.
Inspirations: I agree with Shawno on seeing creative people do things is an inspiration to myself.

Thank you, Dave, Dave, and Nathan for your kind words.
Rest assured the union is involved, and I will be more then happy to let everyone know how that turns out, as soon as it gets resolved.

[...] Yes, you read that right, I am now unemployed! For play by play details about just how and when that happened, listen to Hyper Nonsense. [...]

Its always bad when you lose your job. They should have been more “specific”, it’s not like you could not be trained or anything, or you did something wrong.
Will they give you a reference?
I’m sure the union will get to the bottom of it.

Jen, sorry about losing your job. Everything will work out. Shawno, you mentioned about the topless coffee shop burning down in Connecticut. That is incorrect it was in Vasselboro, Maine.

I don’t care if the burned down topless coffee shop was in Connecticut or Maine. Every burned down topless coffee shop is one too many.
