Thinking about kids and the internet. My eldest is on the net and even though shes not been propositioned, she's had an ex-friend abuse her online. That was not nice - it depressed her for some time.
Being computer savvy, the wife and I dealt with it with the power of the internet and law, and my eldest is now more careful on the net for it.
I am quite open for the children to use the internet, hell, my youngest, who's only 5, browses the web for news and games, it's education by the parents, and schools thats the important thing when it comes to interweb use.

Great to hear you guys are back and that

a) you haven't broken up

b) you aren't dead

c) you haven't been hit by an earthquake or a wildfire

The new HN site looks great and I know the sort of effort Shawno needed to go to after I re-built the Channel Erk site after my US trip.

As for hell, I tend to imagine it is like hell on South Park.

Nice to see Hyper Nonsense back! And with a new look to boot. Looking good guys.

Did I hear you have a koi in your fish tank? What kind? I used to have a pond at our old house. Talli and I love koi. They can be beautiful. We even managed to save a few from the feeder fish tank at the aquarium back in the day. Of course, if you get those, you run the risk of sick fish, so I wouldn't mix those with any expensive fish.

Slam Book Question Answer: My view on hell? I hope there is one and that it's reserved for those people that we'd all agree deserve to be there, not people with minor infractions or questionable misdeeds that only religious conservatives consider a problem. As far as what you do to them, who cares. Isn't it punishment enough that they all have to spend eternity together without any good people? Seems like hell to me.

I agree with you on your assessment of Paul McCartney. I'm a Beatles fan and have been since early high school when I got a Beatles Fakebook for my keyboard, but I think McCartney is trotting out this Beatles reunion thing because it was a very popular request in the 70's. I remember reading in a Lennon biography that in the late 70's they had talked about having a reunion on Saturday Night Live as the band and that would have been very interesting. I would not have seen it live, but it would be interesting as a historical record and would definitely be on Best-of DVDs, etc. What you were saying about Paul though reminded me of lyrics from Lennon's 1971 album Imagine after the Beatles broke up from a song called "How Do You Sleep?" basically lambasting Paul.

"So Sgt. Pepper took you by surprise
You better see right through that mother's eyes
Those freaks was right when they said you was dead
The one mistake you made was in your head
Ah, how do you sleep?
Ah, how do you sleep at night?
You live with straights who tell you you was king
Jump when your momma tell you anything
The only thing you done was yesterday
And since you're gone you're just another day
Ah, how do you sleep?
Ah, how do you sleep at night?

Ah, how do you sleep?
Ah, how do you sleep at night?

A pretty face may last a year or two
But pretty soon they'll see what you can do
The sound you make is muzak to my ears
You must have learned something in all those years
Ah, how do you sleep?
Ah, how do you sleep at night? "

Slambook: My vision of hell is probably the stereotypical one of red hot fire in a deep cavernous setting. I love Ray Wylie Hubbard's song Conversation With The Devil (http://www.last.fm/music/Ray+Wylie+Hubbard/_/Conversation+With+the+Devil) where hell is populated with murderers, rapists, hypocritical preachers and politicians, and mother's who spank their kids at K-Mart.

Wordpress and themes are all scripted in PHP, there's no way it could be in Dutch because Dutch is not a scripting language. There's this thing called localization, maybe the theme changed the wp-config.php but you could've easily changed that back to English. I checked out the included modules from the speaker theme, you probably used the de_DE.mo but that's German.
