Happy Anniversary, Hyper Nonsense.

Hey, I'm thinking about starting a "Hyper Nonsense Between the Lines" podcast. On our first episode, we're going to hold a seminar to teach Nathan Lott how to make paragraphs.

Count me in for the Sidebars Live! I'm concerned that a good drummer will screw up your sound, though.

Shawno, I vaguely recall ironically commenting that "nobody buys albums any more," but can't recall the context. Was I trying to sell you my record player or something?

By the way, the Internet has decided to renew your show for another year! Congratulations!

About the cybergangs... I think they broke into my facebook account a couple of weeks ago. How did this happen? Well one day, my email address didn't work anymore. Because I didn't have a second email address on the account, I could not log on and Facebook staff would not allow me access the account because they could not proove I was me.

I told them if they could not give me access to the account, they should delete the account and let me start all over again. They had no problem doing that. So I lost my 3,000+ friends and my MobWars Stats... and I had to start all over again.

Oh well.

Happy 3rd 'Castiversary Shawno and Jen. I waited until the actual 3 year mark to comment. And yes, I think I will one day make it onto the leaderboard. I can't have much more than maybe 30 comments by now though. At least I don't think so. I was late to the Hyper Nonsense party. I didn't even catch Jen's birthday last year. So, it's been under a year for sure.

I was thinking about the Starbucks tip issue and for me I don't really care what the supposed "duties" of the supervisors are so much. If they don't get paid much more and they serve a lot of coffee and have to be the go to person when a customer is upset, I'm ok with them getting a share of the tips. If they get paid a lot more and don't serve much coffee, then that wouldn't be fair though. I say that because I know an "assistant manager" at Home Depot and those guys pretty much just stock shelves. But since they're "management" they don't get paid hourly. It's a way for Home Depot to overwork and underpay a bunch of their staff. Sometimes they even work them up to 60 hours in a week. That way they make less per hour than they did before their "promotion". You'd be surprised how many assistant managers they have...except in California. Here they got sued for the practice and had to start paying all the fake management hourly. At least sometimes the system works.

Happt 'castiversary!

Seems like I've opened a can of worms with the whole collaboration thing. This could get very interesting. If you're looking for interesting covers, I've always thought that a rock version of the song 'You're Never Fully Dressed Without A Smile' from the musical Annie would sound really cool.

You are indeed right that the term is Slash Fiction. It's wrong on SOOOOOOO many levels.

I really enjoyed the first series of Rescue Me, but it rapidly went downhill.

It was only a matter of time before they hired people to enter captchas. They're not perfect, but captchas are still probably the best security solution.

Yayyyy! As The Type Moves!

Orange Tim, Supernatural is one of the best shows on US TV.

Happy 3rd Castiversary! Unfortunately Shawno unless you register "Castiversary" as a trademark, you get no royalty payments. :P It's amazing how State Govts go on selling spree to relieve debt, they sure do come up with weird and wonderful schemes. Take Queensland for example. Last year they were riding the resources boom, one of only two states in Australia with a booming economy at the time. Now they're facing a $14Bn AUD budget deficit. So what is one of the things they plan on doing? Selling off Queensland Rail freight business, which actually makes the Govt a profit!!! Like duh!!!

I really lost interest in BSG, I found that it was dragging on too long and didn't feel the story was progressing. Also extremely dark and very depressing. Never enough action in the series. As for Rescue Me, never really got into it. I've really enjoyed the revival of Doctor Who and the introduction of Torchwood. Not sure what to think of the new choice for The Doctor, Matt Smith, probably because I'm such a David Tennant fan. As for Torchwood, it maybe it's last season this year. I also enjoy Spooks. There are not a great deal of American TV shows that I watch. I like Supernatural.

Star Trek was groundbreaking, if not earth shattering, for it's time. Just with the casting. Think about it. You had African American woman, A Russian and A Japanese. Civil Rights was a huge issue at the time. The Cold War was in full swing and US had fought against Japan who had attacked Pearl Harbor. I think in one of the Star Trek Motion Pictures, Wrath of Khan I believe, Kirk's middle name is mentioned.

I've never really totally figured out the whole tipping thing in the States. I don't believe in tipping for the sake of tipping. If the service is shit, why the hell should I tip someone, especially since I've already paid for a meal or trip somewhere? And seriously, I can believe the US Courts are being subjected to such cases being brought before them. I can even believe they're appealling to the Supreme Court. Let's get priorities right people!

Great show, listened to it on the way to and from work. Oh and thanks Shawno for not calling me Feedback Leaderboard "Dead Wood" :P

Now that I'm in Australia again, I can comment again :P

I love the show Rescue Me as well. I've seen series 1 & 2 on DVD as well but that was a while ago now. Denis Leary is one angry mo-fo but he does it well. It's really a show that you have to understand why it was done and if you don't, you might have NFI what is going on.

Interesting podcast. I've been really enjoying Rescue Me even though I'm starting at the beginning. It's intriguing to hear what's going on in the 5th season. Hope to get through 3rd or 4th season by end of the Summer. You're right it is a good character driven show. Also interesting conversation about Schwarzenegger wanting to close San Quintin. I'm surprised San Quintin or Folsom (which is in California) haven't had Historic Landmark status attached to them after Johnny Cash made them famous in the 50's and 60's. "I hear the train a-comin'. . . ". If the sale would boost California's coffers that would be good as well. That bit of the article you read made a good point, though, about San Quintin being a rehabilitative center because of all of the volunteers in the area.
