It's almost like Jen's first day of school all over again!

Good luck for tomorrow, Jen!

It seems strange to me that school starts so soon again after Xmas/NY. As my fellow Australians know, the summer school holiday is the longest break of the school year. It generally runs mid December to the last week in January or first week in February, usually running for 6 weeks. Having said that, there was a time recently here in NSW where school didn't break up until 2 days before Xmas.

And when the schools do start back for the start of the school year (which is based on a calendar year), the staff go back on one day. Then depending on the school, the resumption days for the students are staggered.

Good shit Jen! LOL! Sorry, but everyone else was saying Congrats etc, so I thought I'd be a little different. :) Best of luck in 2009.

At the beginning of the show, my daughter though it was a giant bee was on the computer. :)

My Mum makes a wicked trifle! My Grandma did too years ago. Can't say it's my fav dessert, but it is a yummy dessert.

Thanks for a great year Shawno & Jen!

We don't have Saturday detentions here in the UK, but I did have one or two after-school detentions. No opportunity for The Breakfast Club... :(

Jen's a witch!!!!!!!!!! She points and stuff falls off the wall!!!!!!!!!!!

Yayyyyyyyyy! Now Jen's employed there's only me left.

Too bad about Jen not eating the trifle. Here in the UK you can get individual trifles in yoghourt pots. Maybe you can find them in the US?

I accused by one of my very good podcasting friends of whining too much on my show, so I like the downbeat stuff. (Having said that yay again for the job).

I HATE reality shows and haven't ever watched Survivor (it never really took off over here, Big Brother rules in the UK), but didn't they have an ex NFL Quarterback as a contestant once?

I. Love. The. Killers.

Cartoon characters can be VERY hot. That doesn't mean I want to marry one though...

Since I'm listening to this one late (still haven't fully caught up after NaPodPoMo) Happy New Year.

I'm going to use post 100 to say officially that I HATE homeless people.

Today I was at lunch at KFC. I was sitting down and eating some chicken and twittering. Out of the corner of my eye, I could see a figure come towards me and lift up my cup of Pepsi. I looked up to see a homeless guy take a massive gulp of Pepsi. I yelled out to him "what the hell do you think you are doing?" and then he ran off. I threw my half full drink into the bin.

I probably shouldn't say that I HATE a group of people but f**k it! I hate homeless people (at least in this city!).

Very, very angry! And you'll hear about it on the next episode of Erk Pod!

First of all, congrats on the job thing, Jen!

By the way, I really liked that promo thingie at the beginning. You should play that lots more, okay? ;-0

As for the CostCo discounts on gift cards (which I gotta remember to check out), I recalled (and found) an article from last year about gift cards:

http://www.consumeraffairs.com/news04/2007/12/holiday_gift_cards.html

Quote: "A study conducted earlier this year for Consumer Reports found that 27 percent of gift card recipients have not used one or more of the cards, up from 19 percent at the same time last year. And among consumers with unredeemed cards from last season, 51 percent have 2 or more."

And that's why CostCo can sell them at 80% of cost. If folks don't use the cards, there's very little cost, it's almost all profit. And they have plenty of cash they can give back to the original company.

Was that too serious?
