You peanuts!
Just listening now to Shawno’s Erk impersonation and putting the HN sticker on my train. Problem is, Shawno would need to send me about 30 stickers a week!
And yes, Nathan will get the package unopened. I’ll even film it for you!
I voted for Jen Ryan. More comments later.
September 26th, 2008 at 5:33 am
Cool! Anti-spam word is booze! Mmmm. Might just have some whilst writing this!
If there were ants Shawno, Jen would break out into song! “The ants go marching…”
We have all sorts of people trying to sell you stuff in the City and places like Parramatta. Oh and in major shopping centres. I just ignore people. Seriously if I was interested people, I’d walk over you and purchase your product.
Can I vote neither for the hair poll? Paige Davis’ hair is just shocking! A mop would look better! As much as I like Meg Ryan, I don’t reckon her style would suit you Jen. I agree with Shawno, I think you should grow your hair longer.
Yeah Nath! I want a HN sticker!!!
Shawno, your Aussie accent sux! You sounded more like Spinal Tap! Stick to your American accent. It’s flawless.
I know what it’s like to post packages overseas. Having friends and family overseas, I’m forever at the post office sending packages! And the cost is increasing and getting stupidly high!
“Battlestar” is not really screened here. So I’ve only seen download eps from the net. For me, there is truly not enough of the frakkin’ war! Guias Baltar takes up far too much screen time and as much as I can look at Caprica 6 (Tricia Helfer) all day and night, her and Baltar can take up entire episodes!!! It’s maddening! Oh and the relationship dramas! Oh puh-lease! More Vipers! More Raiders! More frakkin’ action!
McCain said he’d go back to DC to “deal” with the US economic meltdown and Obama shit canned the idea. And what do I hear on the radio this morning, McCain AND Obama were both back in DC doing their current day jobs. McCain is the shrewder politician, Obama is still wet behind the ears. It will be an interesting election, but as I’ve heard on lot of US citizens say when interviewed “I’m not voting, because if these two men are the best we can do, we’re in trouble.”
Haiku of Frustrations rock! Way cool fun!
One, two, three, four I declare a SuperPoke War!

Oh I forgot! With Facebook, make sure your chance your privacy settings. If you’re not a facebook friend that I have approved, you cannot see my profile. I also changed the settings that friends of my facebook friends cannot see my profile either. I also reduce the amount on info I place on Facebook. Protect your person info!!!

Ok, so far we have four votes for the Meg Ryan hairstyle, one for my current hairstyle… and a write in vote for “grow longer hair”. Interesting!

Green-Eyed Lady By Sugarloaf Yeah it is!
September 26th, 2008 at 2:54 pm
Shipping things overseas can be expensive, a few monthss ago i paid about 7 bucks to mail a $6 t-shirt. It’s friggin’ 2008, shouldn’t we be able to teleport stuff by now?
I dunno about this whole bailout thing. I can understand why Bush would come up with something like that, but as usual with this administration the timing is suspect. McCain looked like he was doing well right after he picked Palin, Palin screwed up an interview, McCain is down to 39 percent in the polls and boom, Bush provides McCain with another opportunity to shine. Looks like McCain screwed it up, but still, suspect.
About Jen’s hairstyle, I like the Meg Ryan look but she probably has hair extensions or something. So i’m gonna vote Meg Ryan, but i’m gonna suggest this
September 26th, 2008 at 3:58 pm
Mmmm, Dave’s hair style suggestion is pretty cool!
I always laugh at how Americans call the hair that covers your forehead, bangs! I’d love to find out the origin of that word. We refer to that part of your hair as your fringe.
Jen, check out http://hairstyles.hairboutique.com/ a searchable database with 22754 different hairstyles. A word of warning there are some TRULY AWFUL hairstyles on there. Oh Gawd! This is turning into HHN – Hair Hyper Nonsense!

I do so little on facebook. I used to play Texas Holdem, but they started that on MySpace, I have my podcasting feeds on my main main page, with wordscraper, last.fm and ilike.
Myspace is good for bands in my opinion, and have had little to no problem.
September 26th, 2008 at 8:10 pm
Jen, you can always use more Blue and Green!
We have a magazine sold by the homeless here in the UK too. It’s called The Big Issue and would be a good read apart from the fact that the editorial content is, how shall I put it, militant. However they do have some really good interviews with major figures in Britain.
Shawno’s accents are as good as ever…
Tragically Battlestar Galactica has jumped the shark. I was kind of like you for the first two seasons. It was gruelling to get through, but I watched it because it was compelling. The ‘One Year Later’ caption in the final episode of Season 2 was one of the most audacious ways to end a TV series ever. Unfortunately the revelation at the end of Season 3 was too far. That’s who they are! Really! No not only is it gruelling, it’s now nonsensical.
I cannot stand Gordon Ramsey, but my brother was trained as a chef, so he insists on watching Kitchen Nightmares whenever he’s home. At the moment he’s home every Sunday. Sometimes I hate my brother…
I now wondering if I should send Mike the comic book script I wrote a few years ago…
Isn’t the whole show an ‘extended bullshit thing’?
PETA has good intentions, but far too often they go way too far. ‘PETA and dumb’ is about right at this point.
Myspace USED to be good until this week. Listen to the podcast I just finished recording for an extended myspace rant. I’ve got no worries about social networks for potential employers. The only social network presence I have is my podcast myspace page.
Dammit! You yanks always get it wrong! If it’s the one in England it’s Birming-UM, if it’s the one in Alabama it’s Birming-HAM. Mind you that’s not as bad as Edin-BORO rather than Edin-BRA.
Yeah Dave! I demand teleportation!
September 26th, 2008 at 8:29 pm
I’d like to note that all “votes” in the comments for Jen’s hairstyle that are for something that’s not actually listed in the poll, those votes default to “her current hairstyle.”
Thank you for playing along.
Sincerely,
your local podcast

And oh yeah. Mike is right. “Green Eyed Lady” by Sugarloaf is indeed the song. In accordance with contest rules, you win nothing. (Also, ignore the stupid video in the link. It’s the only clip I could find that had the LP cut of the track.)

Still time to nominate Hyper Nonsense in Podcast Awards 2008.
Deadline is Sept. 30.
Can’t remember which category I chose for HN. I think it was best GLBT podcast. This is no comment whatsoever on anybody’s haircut.

I didn’t realize anybody else knew “Green Eyed Lady” by Sugarloaf.
I have that album. It’s in storage, with the rest of my albums. I’m paying $70 a month to keep the “Green Eyed Lady” memory alive.

Lady to Lady advice- (my vote should count as two people)
From your picture, your hair looks pretty short now and I think you should grow it out before really committing to a haircut. However, you can add layers and/or highlights to give it more “oopmph” if you will. That’s what’s going on with Meg Ryan’s hair in the photo. Adding layers should make your hair look thicker, and they would really compliment your heart-shaped face. Highlights will emphasize that affect, but cost more and I don’t think you really need them. I’d go to the stylist, bring the picture, and tell them that you want something similar, though not exact.
I need a hair cut too, maybe I’ll put up photos and hold a competition. On my non-existent blog.
October 3rd, 2008 at 11:44 am
oh, and this Keira Knightly photo will give you a better idea about what you’d get, since it looks like she has a similar hair texture to yours. Though she’s grown out her bangs and personally I’d go for a bit more layers than she’s got.

October 3rd, 2008 at 5:42 pm
Sorry ’bout that, Paul. It’s fixed now. (That was the second bit of link fail in these shownotes. Guess I need to check ‘em a little better.)

October 4th, 2008 at 2:22 am
and on the milk thing they already do it in France!!!
“Le Petit Singly is a farm that specializes in making cheese from women’s breast milk. Are you imagining the milking process? Admittedly, that imagery makes me come to the conclusion that it’s an absolutely bizarre and crazy world of cheesemaking in little ole Singly, France. But, no. I think the “donors” bring their milk to the farm, or something like that.”

October 4th, 2008 at 2:13 pm
Sorry for the lack of download choices, Paul. Unfortunately, Our Lunar Activities’ music doesn’t appear to be available via Amazon.
And um, thanks for the link to the breast cheese story?
October 4th, 2008 at 8:42 pm
I think the plugin we’ve been using for the poll is no longer valid and we need to do a recount on this poll.
October 6th, 2008 at 8:46 pm
Haiku of frustration, I am still a little confused with this guys i have been banging my head against the wall trying to get 7 5 then 7 but i dunno i think it might just be me!!
