My vote is for Microphone 1… sound like a little more compressed.

I agree with you, Rich. You forgot to place your vote in the actual poll though.

I can’t believe I listened through the whole thing. But although it was totally not your intention, you kept me company through my work.
I am out traveling and last night I had to stay up until about midnight working on network routing issues. Thank goodness I had you in my mp3 player. I didn’t feel alone.
So I paid close attention to both mics. Though call. They distinction is very subtle. But, the second mic had a crispier sound to me. The first mic sounded slightly more dull than the first. And so, my vote goes to microphone #1.
Good stuff here. Can’t wait until you get on with the shows.
“Coming up next, Hyper Nonsense Number 70!” Right?

I’m liking Mic 1 also. It seemed to best preserve the sound of Smooth-Voiced Jen.
Mic 2 produced a really annoying, high-pitched ‘something’ whenever Jen pronounced an ‘s’. It wasn’t quite sybilence, but it was there… and much more annoying (IMHO) than any noise produced over Mic 1.
My vote is in the poll… thanks! ft

I went for 1 but I’m not sure if it was because it sounded most “Jen” like.

Thanks for your thoughts, Paul and Farris. I wonder though, had we been using microphone 2 from the start if everyone would feel differently?
EDIT: Thanks to Justo, also. For some reason, WordPress flagged his comment as spam. I’m going to have to figure out why WordPress is flagging legitimate comments as spam. That didn’t used to happen. And yes, Justo. HN 070 will be next. Stay tuned.

Maybe Jen should decide which mic she’s most comfortable with, after all she’s the one who has to use it. But on the other hand i think Jen has one of the best sounding voices in podcasting, so you don’t wanna have any disturbing noises. I went for the Shure, dunno why.

Fact of the matter is, no matter what mic you use, Jen will sound great.
I agree with Dave. Jen has a good voice for podcasting. Hyper Nonsense would not be the same without Jen.
By the way, on a different note, did I get disqualified from the blogroll? Don’t see my podcast on the list anymore.

Awwwww!
You like me! You really, really like me! (to steal a quote from Sally Field).
Thanks for all the nice comments about my voice, everyone.

I voted for Mic 1. Mic 2 sounds a bit tinny. But I don’t know how you EQ’d them.
This was the best show ever.
