This episode will be boring to you unless you’re into podcasting. Shawno goes solo and talks about the future of Hyper Nonsense. (And no, Shawno and Jen didn’t break up. OK?)

Hey, Shawno:
I would suggest keeping the archive and numbering scheme intact. Store the old shows on Sendspace or equivalent, or with your Web host, and make them available as downloads.
I like your music selections, so I hope you’ll continue to play the occasional indie tune.
Do you compress the audio? It sounds like you’re using compression. Cut back on the compression.
These are my suggestions for Hyper Nonsense 2.0.
Ken
Reset the counter?
I wouldn’t suggest it unless you plan to change the name. Even for the new listener, Episode 070 make it sound as if you are established, which you are.
Now on the other hand, you could rename the show and start over. Kinda like you did after your first try of Phantom Power Podcast. So Hyper Nonsense can be episode 2 of your podcasting ventures.
So, if you ask me: change the name, change the format, and reset the counter. Otherwise, keep plugging away with Episode 070, 071, 072, . . . 998, 999, WTF? Reset or four digits? I’ll give you my opinion when you get there.
Later dude,

You could always categorize it like Hollywood TV shows do and give a new season a new categorization. Why not start the new Hyper Nonsense at 101 and move on from there. Either that or just maintain the number system as it. Don’t reset to zero though … it devalues the work you’ve already put in.
The consensus so far is to NOT reset the show count. I’m still undecided. I do think it’ll look kinda weird to new listeners to see all of those episodes missing. But we can always put up a page to explain that.
And, speaking of the old episodes, I’m just about to post something to the show blog about that.
Dissenting POV: Is numbering the episodes really necessary?
Most ‘Pods and other portable audio devices with a display will sort and show episodes by date and episode title anyway, so listeners wanting to keep episodes can find them on their devices easily anyway.
At my new cast, I’ve deliberately avoided using episode numbers, and I’m not aware of it causing any issues for listeners.
On the other hand, if it’s merely a way of “keeping score,” then go ahead and use them. In that event, I don’t see a reason to change the episode count.
Good luck with the relaunch! ft
Showno.-
No to the “re-start the count”.
Can you imagine if today MacDonals says… mmm… I really donīt like the name McDonals, I will change it to McQuak. They will be throwing all their work by the window.
Hypernosense had capitalize 70 shows. Please continue with your good work.
Maybe you could put a stop and start with letters “100a” or with “100new… 101new” or something like that.
Have a nice day.
By the way, thanks for coming back.

To repeat an earlier suggestion, Shawno, create a pod/blogroll, mainly so you can direct your massive fan base to my site and boost my Technorati ranking.
Also, link your banner back to hypernonsense.com. It’s an essential navigational tool.
I’m putting together a new website, Ken. And I’ll consider the blogroll. There WILL be an exciting new “feedback leaderboard,” and if you’re listed on it, it will include a link to your site.
Wow, lots of comments here. I’ve been behind on my podcasts. I’m not reading the previous comments, just because.
I have to say, I never really listen to any of the music that you guys play. Don’t take any offense to that, the only music that I listen to is the stuff that Madge plays. Anyone else, I just fast forward.
Can you put your old shows on Archive.org? I know it’s sloooow, but, it’d be a place to put your stuff. What if you even put them on PodShow just so you could have an archive somewhere.
Stick with 70. That’s quite a lot of shows. People need to know that you’ve been doing it for a while.
I’ve looked into OurMedia (archive.org) for hosting. And it could work. But, they have some restrictions, and it may not be the best option. I’ve been looking at Podbean, and I think we may be able to go there and take the full archive with us. Will know more later today.
Also look into blip.tv, When you Google them it says podcast hosting. There site doesn’t say anything about podcasts, just videos, but, when you go to search for content it gives you the option to do an MP3 search only. Might be another option, they are free, too.
Thanks for the blip tip, Andy. Man, I just set up a Podbean account. What a mess! Not the most user-friendly interface in the world.
Don’t worry, Podshow’s is probably worse!
