It’s our inaugural podcast! We introduce ourselves, explain our history in podcasting, discuss Shawno’s “good customer service is like sex” theory, play some fine local music and come back with a story about a grocery store going out of business. (Seriously. A grocery store. Going out of business.)

Hey guys, I just thought I’d check out your very first Hyper Nonsense Podcast. Only 35 minutes! Wow! Things have sure changed! Anyways I’m glad you have kept this up after all this time and you two don’t sound half bad for a first outing(not that I’d really notice or anything). Also its good to hear that you both were having fun from the start which is no doubt part of what keeps you going. What was this earlier show you were referring to and is it something I should seek out?

With topics like the hassles of dealing with pharmacies and bad customer service, you two were both spot on about issues from the start – though I don’t know about the whole customer service/sex analogy, that might be a bit of a stretch. Anyway I agree with you, I try to always be as nice and patient with customer service people because, in the end, we all end up doing some customer service one way or another with our jobs and we might as well have some good karma going our way while making it easier for those trying to help us. I wouldn’t have always thought that way in my youth, but I certainly do now.

This might be starting a trend for me because I do intend on going back and looking at some of the older episodes and checking them out – especially the “drunk casts”. What better place to start then where it all began?

    Matt,
The earlier show was called “The Phantom Feed”. We were still in IL when we were doing that one, and it took a long, long, time before Shawn was able to convince me to be on the show. Totally scared of the microphone. ;)
I don’t think you can find them anymore out there on the internet. Not sure they are “out there” anywhere, anymore. Rest assured that they were not as good as the Hyper Nonsense shows. We were really new at all this podcasting stuff back then.

The “drunk casts” were fun to do, at least for me. Not sure how entertaining they are… but, if ya listen, we would love to read your comments about them.

One sure way to gain quick glory on the Feedback Leaderboard would be to start at the beginning of the archive and comment on each episode. Which would be pretty cool.

And Jen’s right, our first podcast was called The Phantomfeed, and it’s no longer available on Internetz. Five episodes are included, however, on the limited edition Hyper Nonsense bunnyfund disc. Jen’s also right in that things were different then. We were using rather arcane equipment compared to what we had now, and Jen definitely had to be coaxed into participating. The first six episodes of that show were just me, solo. Things work much better with the two of us together.
